Earth's Angels -Making A Difference
In 2020, Earth’s Angels broke ground on a groundbreaking sustainable fish farm in Winneba, Ghana, a rural village in Ghana, thanks to a small grant from Empty Bowls. The land for the farm was purchased outright, and the nonprofit proudly operates with no debt. Currently, the organization's focus is entirely on the fish farm, which not only provides fresh fish to local healthcare facilities and orphanages but also serves as a source of employment for the local residents.
The farm has successfully taken approximately 50 children off the streets by providing stable jobs for their parents, allowing these children to pursue education and personal development. In addition to addressing hunger and unemployment, the fish farm is committed to environmental sustainability. Earth’s Angels has initiated a climate initiative by securing seeds to plant moringa trees around the farm. These trees will help demarcate the boundaries of the farm while also contributing to carbon sequestration and reducing the overall climate footprint. Furthermore, we proudly maintain a workforce where at least 50% of our staff are women. This commitment not only addresses the critical issue of female employment but also actively challenges and helps dismantle the gender inequalities that persist in Ghana.
By empowering women through meaningful employment, we contribute to a more equitable society and foster a culture of inclusivity and opportunity.
Looking ahead, Hanan envisions the fish farm evolving into a comprehensive community center that includes an art center and library. This transformation aims to create a vibrant hub for education, creativity, and community engagement, further enhancing the impact of Earth’s Angels in the region. By investing in this initiative, supporters will contribute to a model of integrated development that not only prioritizes food security and economic stability but also fosters a sense of community and belonging among the residents of Winneba, Ghana. Earth’s Angels remains dedicated to its mission of eradicating hunger and empowering individuals while promoting sustainable practices for a brighter future.

Since February 2020, our efforts have been focused on a fish farm that we have built from scratch, located in Winneba, Ghana. A ‘feed the hungry’ project that will change the lives of many. This farm serves to feed thousands of people every year. The fish will be sold locally, and the profits used to pay salaries, farm expenses, and keep the farm running, overall. A self-sustaining charitable venture!
The farm will serve the community in a variety of ways, including teaching sustainable farming, agricultural education to child and college students, and supplement the catch of the fisher men and women in the area. This ‘feed the hungry’ project will change many lives for the better.
Our farm includes a living quarters where the farm manager and farm hands will reside, a nursery, out growing tanks, and a shed for all of our supplies. We will host students, who will stay with us for periods of time.
